Any outside interests?

Eric: I am a director at Luton Football Club. When I go to Southampton I’ll go and watch them play. I sincerely hope Luton will win the cup… I’ve plugged it often enough. Very much doubt it, quite honestly.
Ern: I like cricket. I have a boat, too On the river… cruising down the river.
Eric: He loves wearing the captain’s caps, sailor’s caps. He like that. He likes to see his wife in one of those HMS caps.

What about the future?

Ern: Next year as far as we are concerned, we are not doing any more TV, but the year after we are because we feel the public will want a break eventually from Morecambe and Wise. They don’t think so at the moment. They say “Oh no, you’ve got to be on.” But if we have a break from TV and do another series afterwards that will give us two series. Whereas if we didn’t have a break there would be only one. Our shows have been seen in America, Australia and Hong Kong. They did very well in America. I don’t want to work there any more, I’m not overkeen.
