Site updates
New Year Update: 7th January 2012 Welcome to a new year and the first mini-backfilling update. In preperation for a site overhaul, which is going to be a mamoth task in its self, we found a couple of things we didn't cover and have now rectified this. You can now find features on The Ernie Wise letter asking Eric to break up the act and a quick run down of the audition songs Eric and Ernie used to sing when they were teenagers. We have also added The Unforgettable Ernie Wise to the On TV section.
We wish all site visitors a fruitful new year.

Eric's Last Performance: 18th March 2011 Shortly before his death in 2005, when he was too ill to write, Alan Randall dictated the following article to the Rev. Guy Bennett. The article was published in Call boy, the magazine for Music Hall in 2011 and covers the events at the Roses theatre as seen by a fellow performer who was on stage with Eric. This wonderful and sad article is reproduced here by kind permission. Read the article here.

Mini Update: 5th March 2011 We have a collection of items just added to the site and all of them are linked in some way. First we have a new feature about the mystery surrounding the quoted date that Eric and Ernie first met. Initially this was thought to be 1939 in Manchester during auditions held by Jack Hylton. This may now be wrong; read the feature and see what you think. You may even be able to help us sort out the missing links!
We have included an article from Melody Maker that covers the contest that was run to get four people the chance to audition for Hylton which includes an interview with a very young Eric Bartholomew.
In connection with this we have published articles from 1938 covering what was probably Ernie's final telent contest before he went on to bigger things with Hylton. The articles, taken from the Morely Observer covers the week long contest at the Morley Pavilion, which is just a few yards from where his statue now stands.
So, one feature and several articles - happy reading.
